It appears you may have had a line collapse caused by a poor connection in the line output stage, it would be a matter of resoldering around this area. Now that you say it will come on could indicate that a component has now failed as a result of the line collapsing, more than likely the line output transistor has now also failed & would need replacing.

LG 50PK550 Plasma Single Thin Green Vertical Line

It is going to be one of two basic issues:

1. There is a poor connection somewhere in the set--either with a plug or cable or on one of the boards.

2. There is a board that is beginning to fail causing this.

Either would require a shop and may or may not be worth the cause.

Having seen hundreds of these sets all are more prone to flaky problems than the older sets and average life span is 3-5 years.

Shop I work for 80% of them are 2 years old or less.

If problem began shortly after set was moved or relocated I would lean towards a bad connection somewhere.

My 52inch xbr4 tv is 2 years old. Intermitently over past 2 months, when I first turned it on, I get thin vertical lines and double imaging especially over left half of screen. After a few minutes it would...

I have the same issue. Bought the TV 1/08 and it started showing those exact symptoms about 3-4 months ago. It generally progresses and gets worse. You can try to fix it as it's some kind of TAB connector issue, or keep calling Sony so that the 52" owners of the XBR4 and 5 series get the extended warranty just like the 46" owners received for the same series. If enough of us keep calling, they'll have to act.

Blue focus

sounds like the place you took it to get servicer turned up the screen control when you had no picture problem that was a no vertical causeing a vertical line. but the service center let it run too long causing the line to burn in the tube. very bad for a repair center to do this. cant believe the got you for 600. thats well overboard. now you got a blue convergance problem because its erroring out durrent the blue reading in the test. what you need is to take off the screen turn on the tv. look in each tube for that line. now you can tell what tube needs replaced. then check convergance ic's they are big black ic's that stand up and mounted on a heat sync for cracked solder. might want to go ahead and solder them anyways in case you cant see or dont know what your lookin at. also check all the resisters in that area for burns. if that does not fix your problem, try replacing the ic's using mcm electronics. they are on the web. and the part number from the front of the ics.

51 big screen apex tv, convergence or verticle IC?

If the lines are thin and close together running horizontally, it may be the vertical driver, but that usually takes out the resistor and sometimes the diode in the B+ for the vert. Also you must replace the caps that caused the problem in the first place.
