Do a google search for "A&V400-MX Motherboard driver" and there are plenty of sites to download the drivers from, such as this one:
http://www.driverstock.com/ASUS-A7V400-MX-driver-download/6-9-10253/index.html

Then run the installer if it's there, or right click on the .inf file and "install" it. There may be instructions with the files you can follow to install.

Audio driver setup for windows xp sp2

The standard audio driver for the sound card is already part of the OS. You don't have to install it. When the OS is installed the driver is installed. If you have un-installed the driver then you can reinstall it again from your windows xp cd.
For any other sound hardware like usb or bluetooh sound the driver comes with the product itself.

H D Audio Driver fails to install

Have you checked to see if the driver is already installed, and the volume is just turned down? (Start> programs > accessories > entertainment > volume control) If so, try going into Device Manager (right click My Computer > properties > hardware > device manager) See if the sound card is showing up there as a yellow question mark or other error icon, it will stand right out. If it's there, right click, and uninstall it. Now (still in device manager) press the button that looks like a computer screen with a magnifying glass on it, that will scan for hardware changes and pick up the sound card, which windows includes the driver for automatically. If this still doesn't work, try downloading from realtek here, and installing that. Hope this helps.
