  1. check if youR auto focus switch is turned on
  2. the red dots (focus points) must be lit on the screen where you want to focus when taking pictures . you can adjust this by pressing the focus point button located on the upper right portion (plus magnifying lens) then turn your shutter speed knob you may notice the changes in the points .
  3. . half press before taking the picture to allow the camera to adjust the focus ..
if you are familiar with this settings and you are already doing this but still you get the same problem maybe the lens are not cleaned or may needd to be calibrated so better bring it to the nearest service center

Check your settings - try taking sots with the different focus settings and compare. If all photos show some identical signs, you need a fix on your camera. If, for one photo taken with the auto focus settings, look different, you need more practice with your camera.

My camera can't focus when i press halfway down to focus before i press all the way down to snap the photo. it is only a problem with my 18-55mm lens. all my other lenses focus and take photos...

First off, try gently turning the focus ring on your lens while it is on auto focus mode (DO NOT force it). Sometimes a minor bump on the lens can cause the focus ring to come off the tracks. Try that and see if the lens start auto focusing again. I find that this solves the issues a lot of the time. If that doesn't give you any results then you'll need to take your lens to an authorized Canon service center for repairs. Hope this helps!

Images are blurry, fuzzy

Good day,

I have heard a lot of complaints about people taking Blurry Photos.

There are a few possibilities for it and a few easy fixes.

The first possibility I would identify is a dirty lens. To fix this simply take a clean microfiber cloth and gently clean the lens until there are no smudges visible.

The other possibility I would identify is that the pictures are out of focus.
This problem can be caused by a dirty lens or because the object or person was not focused on. To ensure focus on your photos, line up your shot and wait for the camera to focus by pressing the shutter button half way down. When focused press the shutter button in all the way and hold the camera still until the photo appears on the screen. By doing this you will eliminate any motion that might mess up your shot.

Please let me know if these tips work for you!

Regards

Blurred subject in middle of photo

I own Rebel XT and Canon 50mm f1.8 MKII lens with plastic mount and noticed many pictures with missed focus, either front or back focusing. Meaning objects slight forward or below the intended subject is in focus. I've sent my body and the lens to Canon for evaluation and thet adjusted my focus sensors on the body. I still have problems and there are many threads related to focusing on this camera with 50mm f1.8 that the sensors on this camera do not do so well with fast lens and prone to missed focus.
Test your camera's focusing ability with a book or magazine where you focus on just one specific line and see if it is truly in focus when you review the picture.
