SOURCE: Cool air when running; warm air when compressor is off.

It sounds as if warm outside air is being drawn back into the room when the unit is not actively cooling. Portable units depend on room air to carry the heat outside, & therefore will not work properly if the room is too airtight. Provide a makeup air passage by leaving the door slightly open, & see if this helps. Use a room thermometer to see if your desired temperature is being reached. Note that if the wind is strong & coming from the wrong direction, it may not be possible to prevent warm air drawback.

2004 mazda mpv engine racing and cooling fan not working

coolant temp sensor tells the computer how hot or cold the engine is so it can regulate the idle and fuel mixture, when it fails there usually is no cooling fan and you will have trouble starting the engine and keeping it running.

I have an intertherm air cond.it blows cool but not cold air,i have all conections no leaks and everthing runs when i shut the air off at the thermastat the blower keeps running any thoughts please help....

Several problems with these units, (I just finished rebuilding mine). sounds like the fan
relay has failed. This may be due to water dripping on it. Also the sequencers that
were supplied often popped apart( the new ones are clipped together with metal bands)
I would replace both as I have already done.
The outdoor condenser sounds like it is stuck, which is a reversing valve problem.
If the lineset is cool but not really cold, then this is the problem.
luckily the parts are inexpensive for the air handler but the outdoor unit problem
is expensive to repair and I just replaced it as a unit, The good news is that it dropped
the electric bill 84 dollars the first month in february heat mode.
If you can install a new system, I would recommend a Goodman 13 seer minimum. They
are efficient, quiet and less expensive, if your unit is 13 seer on the indoor
air handler it can be
fitted up with a new outdoor condenser. Hope this is useful.

Air conditioner comes on but is not cooling the house....new house, new unit

Try going outside and locate your outdoor unit. If the thermostat is on, and the fan is running inside, the outdoor unit should be on as well. If it isn't, locate the circuit breakers in your breaker box. There will be two. Trip them back and all the way forward.

If the unit is running outside, sometimes the air cond contractor forgets to come back and charge the unit with refrigerant. In this case be sure to contact the air cond contractor that installed the unit.

Not cooling

check the and see if the condenser fan is running. you will find it if you take the top off also check and see if the condenser coil is clean. if it is dirty or the fan under the top is not running it will cause the compressor to short cycle on limits or overload.

I have a 1.5 hp kelvinator wall mounted air cond.It has three button (cool, fan, and dry)If I want to get the room really cold what is the best button to push

Hi,
The best button to push for that is the cool button, then turn the thermostat all the way to cold.
The fan button will only move air around and will do no cooling.
The dry button is for dehumidification, in this mode the unit will run a low speed fan over the cooling coil to take the water out of the air.

So for cooling your best option is to push the cool button and crank down the thermostat...

Air cond dash light works, compressor doesn't go on.

AC's have a low freon switch that shuts off the system to protect the compressor in the advent that you have a freon leak have the system checked for a leak

Defrost Cycle Problems with Heat Pump

That's what a heat pump does. The problem to me sounds like you don't have a big enough heater inside.
