What are matching models for Whirlpool Oven door model AKZ456/IX

I broke the oven door for model AKZ456/IX and need to replace it but I find the original oven doors are very expensive. I found also on eBay many similar models where the seller says it would match other models too. So my question is whether I could use different model on my AKZ456/IX at all and which one would that be?

As You may know, Whirlpool also builds Kenmore products, that being said, You would be far better off buying the exact model door for Your oven. The joy You may get from saving a "C" note on an alternative door option could turn into a Personal B*tt Kicking contest when You discover it almost worked, You CAN'T send it back and You still have to buy the right one. Best of Luck to You.

How many amps are required to install a whirlpool oven model AKP210/ix?

The specifications call for 2500 watt connections. The item is rated at 1100 watt hours. The amperage depends on what the voltage supplied is.

How do I use the self-cleaning function on my Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 self-cleaning oven?

If you just want to run the basic self-clean cycle. First remove the broiler pan and racks from the oven. Next clean any heavy spills up with a non-abrasive cleaner (do not use an oven cleaner). Clean the window of the oven door and the door frame (to the outside of the gasket). Then close the oven. If the oven has a touch-pad, press the Auto-clean pad on the oven followed by Start. The oven will automatically lock and then unlock when the oven has cooled after the cleaning cycle. (I'm less certain of the control settings for the dial type of oven control.)

In order to get your manual you need the full model number of the oven. This is on a plate located behind the storage door. This pdf, http://adcxns1.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/ca8e028c60d9804f85256a8c00621f04/$FILE/4322089.pdf , gives you a picture of where the model and serial numbers are is on page 4 as well as some of the information contained in the serial number on the subsequent pages.

Once you have your model number, go to http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search.jsp?siteCd=WHRCOM and enter the model number. This should let you get the manual specific to your oven.

I hope this helps.

Door Handle broke off on a 20 year old GE spacemaker microwave over oven. It still works well and I would like to fix the broken door handle.

The door handle can easily be replaced on MOST microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The average cost for a replacement handle (if required) usually runs about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided.

The door handle is a simple repair that can be done with the door in place, or with the door removed. You do not have to uninstall the oven if this is an over the range model.

NOTE: If you wish to remove the door, all you need to do on most models is open the door all the way and lift straight up at the hinges. You may have to remove the grille cover located above the door on some models to accommodate being able to lift the door.

If you have any questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

The lower handle retainer is broke

If only the door handle is broken, it can easily be replaced on MOST microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:

If the model number is correct, this is a parts illustration of your oven door:

http://pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php

The door handle on this model has two parts (items 3 and 8). Depending on what is broken, you may only need to order one or the other. Both parts, combined, is still only about $20. The part numbers are WB15X10119 and WB15X10120, respectively.

The door handle is a simple repair that can be done with the door in place, or with the door removed. You do not have to uninstall the oven if this is an over the range model.

Handle broke off Microwave oven door can I repair? How can I access mounting screws? Where can I find parts?

On MOST microwave ovens, you just have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

If the model number is correct, the part numbers for a door handle replacement is 56001139 and 56001136. There are two pieces with the door handle on this model oven. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided.

If you have any questions, or if your model number is different than the one listed, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Door handle

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
