Your drain tube must be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Maytag performa fridge model# ptb1753grw freezer freezing up and the fridge not getting cool. i defrost freezer remove the ice then the bottom fridge gets cold again. but it keeps freezing up again.

You have one or more of your defrost components that are bad. Defrost heater, defrost thermostat, and defrost timer or board depending on model are the 3 components.

Maytag MFI2568AES- ice maker making ice but cannot harvest

Sounds like the thermostat inside the ice maker that allows the heater to come on during harvest cycle is bad. You will need to replace the ice maker.

Kenmore fridge model 596 - 79213014 2 yrs old accumulates ice at the bottom freezer. The fridge has built it ice maker but we did not opt for that option. Can anyone pls advise how tofix the problem?

IS THERE A CONTAINER FOR THE ICE TO COLLECT IN UNDER THE ICEMAKER??? IF NOT YOU WILL NEED TO GET OR ORDER ONE..
NEXT THERE IS A WIRE LEVER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ICE MAKER. WHEN THE ICE PUSHED THAT LEVER UP IT WILL QUIT MAKING ICE. WITH YOUR HAND GENTLY LIFT THE LEVER UP UNTIL IT STAYS LOCKED IN THE UP POSITION... ONCE IT IS IN THE UP POSITION ... IT WILL NOT PRODUCE ANY ICE.

I have a refrigerator with water/ice in the door. I am having ice build up in the freezer section where the ice comes down. Why is this happening? What can I do to fix it?

Replacimg the dual water control valve that fits your model number is most likely the choice you will have here. On that valve has a side for the water dispenser and a side for the ice maker alone. Should the ice maker side of the dual water valve not close all the way it becomes as a leaking faucet that allows just enough water to leak into ice maker and the create a bigger mess onece the fill tube for the ice maker freezes just enough to go every place but the ice maker. Now please do not mistake a defrost condesate drain blockage with this problem Click Here for that later once we clear this problem up. Now I need to assume your Maytag is a model MSD2756GES then I would make a note of your true model number and click or call whoever you like but having your model number is most important Click here and enter that model number in their search feature=> HERE once you enter the model number it will take you to a page that shows different sections of your model not the example I gave. On left side of screen scroll down to icemaker and the part 10 in photo is the dual water control valve. Click 20 on the center bottom of page and you get=> 61005626 The valve goes on back of fridge and near floor. I will be here to answer any questions you may have, Thank You, Sea Breeze

My Maytag side by side fridge freezer is leaking at the bottom and ice is collecting at the bottom of the freezer. I cannot find any model number but think it's about 6 years old

The drain is clogged behind the wall in the freezer you can do one of three things take the back wall inside the freezer off and thaw the drain in the bottom and clear it out,Pay someone else to do this,or you can mover your food for a day unplug the unit open the freezer door and leave it off for 24 hours allowing the ice to clear from the drain, seems to happen about every five or six years with Maytags..

Does anyone know how to fix an ice maker?

When the ice maker calls for water it pours for about 7 seconds if more will overflow and drips into tray , but the most common problem is the dual valve that leaks even after ice maker called for water (this valve is located in the back of the fridge at the bottom where the water line is hooked up.)

Leaking water from the ice maker

It is very unlikely that you have a leaking water line inside the fridge/freezer, as they are protected from damage. If you have water dripping from the ice maker inside the freezer and/or the dispenser in the door, the most likely problem is the valve that supplies water to the ice maker.

You'll need to replace the water inlet valve that supplies water to the ice maker. This is not the same valve that supplies water to the fridge (I believe the yellow colored valve) but rather, it is the blue valve, mounted just above the main water inlet valve.

At the bottom back right side of the fridge, you can remove the covering and see both the yellow and blue valves. The yellow one (on the bottom) is the incoming water control valve, while the blue (upper one) supplies water to the ice maker.

The part runs about $45-50 if you get it yourself, or around $185.00 for a repair person to come out and do the job for you. It should only take about 20-30 minutes to do it yourself with a small 1/4" nutdriver. Part available from Searspartsdirect.com or several other online and local stores. Just call around and give them your fridge model number and serial number, located on the inside of the fresh food section of the fridge - on the "ceiling" just inside the door.

Hope that helps.
