SOURCE: How do I install a JVC KD-G140 car cd deck
You are not in over your head. You just need to make sure you pay close attention to detail when connecting the wires.
First thing to do: Go to a place that installs car stereos and tell them you need the complete install kit including the wiring harness adaptor. Most all of these places will sell them to you. It is what they use to install the radio. They must know what type of car you are putting it in. Give the the mjake and model and year. They will then give you a bag full of plastic parts and another small bag with a wiring harness. MAKE SURE you get both. You really do need them. The plastic parts are for mounting the radio in the car properly. Without it, you will have something sloppy and it will not look right. It should have instructions. The kit will usually be able to be used for several different models of cars and any model of radio. You must pick which part is right for your car and radio. As I stated, it will have instructions.
Next, after you have the plastic mounting parts picked out for your radio, you will need the wiring harness for your radio and the wiring harness adaptor that you just purchased. The wiring is easy, just match the colors from the harness of your radio, to the same colors on the adaptor harness. Make sure that the wires are stripped properly and they are twisted together properly (or use small wire nuts or crimping type if connectors). Connect red wire to red wire, yellow wire to yellow wire, black wire to black wire, and son on until all wires are connected. Then for extra safety wrap each wire with some black electrical tape to ensure that if a pair if wires came loose somehow that they would not touch anything and short out causing the radio to need service.
Now you just plug the proper end of the harness into the radio and the other end into the harness in the car that the factory radio was plugged in to. Make sure to plug in the antenna as well. Make sure the cage that the radio is in is secure in the plastic mounting brackets you have purchased. Then the radio will go right into place and the bracket will screw in where the factory radio used to be screwed into.
If you need more help, just ask.

Hit select again and use the volume button to change the time! Took me two freaking hours to figure that **** out.
SOURCE: set clock on radio
Hello atesha23,
Below is the step-by-step procedure for setting the JVC clock. Please note that after you have entered the PSM mode, if you have not pressed a button for about 2 seconds, the radio will automatically exit the mode and return to normal operating mode. In that case, you must restart PSM by holding the "SEL" button until the display changes.
(1). Enter the PSM mode by pressing and holding the
SEL button until the display changes.
(2). Use the rocker switch left/right until "CLOCK
H" is displayed.
(3) Set the clock hours by turning the volume
control up/down.
(4) Press the rocker switch again until "CLOCK M"
is displayed.
(5) Set the clock minutes by turning the volume
control up/down.
(6) Press the SEL button to finish and EXIT.
Hope this helps.
