My 250gb hard drive is not working

I have a freecom hard drive of 250gb .. but when i m connecting it wid my pc, my pc is not showing any removable devices ... it is unreadable to me what should i do

    Did you plug the external power supply into the drive? What is your operating system?

Assuming this external hard drie is powered via USB, you probably just need the drivers:

    yes it is powered by USB . I take help from their site . And as per instructions i reset password on cost of loosing all data on hd. It'll take up to 2 hours to reset password, but after several attempts it wasn't reset.

Data Missing from 250GB Freecom HardDrive.
May be that is hidden..Go to the control pannel look for folder options and then in the view tab check the box show all files and then click ok.

connect it again see if are able to see your files again. if not then there are data recovery tools available on the internet.

But i think the first method will solve your problem

Is this a SATA drive and what operating system is loaded on it? .
you may have to insert the installation disk to reset the password.
There is a Linux program on the internet to reset the password to default but there is no guarantee to this. This is for Windows XP
2. You can also get some one with a Linux box to view and backup your data on another hard drive but the PC will have to be compatible to accommodate the hard drive capacity.
3. Try not entering a password at all when in the password/ user screen "hit enter"

In the control panel, go to administrative tools, open computer management. On the left side, there will be a "Disk Management" section, use that to assign a drive letter to your hard drive.

External Hard Drive connected but hidden !!!
Connect it to your computer.
Right click on my computer and select Manage
On the left side click on Disk management.

Now on the right side, look around and see if you spot the external drive there.

What do you see there?

Also look into device manager, then look for anything with ! or ? yellow marks.
