How do you square up the frame so that the glass top will fit properly?
In geometry you measure an angle of 3 by 4 and the diagonal will be 5 at the meeting points
The base will be 90* the sharp angle 30* and the other angle 60*
That is the easiest way to project any frame.

How can I square it up so that the glass fits properly?
Measure corner to corner diagonally. The numbers will match when you have it squared up.
If you need to square up a 2 piece desk, measure the desk, loosen the joint and add spacers as needed. Retighten the joint.

The top of my desk is not smooth and it makes writing difficult. What can I do?

You can either buy a plastic/glass cover to fit the top of your desk and cover the surface, or you can fix it yourself with a little sanding and varnish. Here's a site that can take you through the necessary steps.

What is a u-shaped desk?
A u-shaped desk isactually very similar to l-shaped desk (corner desk), main difference beingthat it's shaped like the letter u. Like the l-shaped desk, it is meant to saveup work space.
