hi

i agree with you about the fire hazard and i had many feedbacks about this tv, mostly conscious about fire hazard too.

i would suggest that in light of owning a high-def tv, it would be significantly appropriate to place this in a room with airconditioning as to diminish the heat this hdtv produces.

about the issue of the hdtv turning off, if you suspect the transformer and other parts to be the reason for the tv to malfunction, why not bring it to a certified service center which handles GE hdtv. i would say that it may be a pain but as to think of the outcome, it may be worth it.

hope this helps.

SOURCE: GE Rear Projection TV set with "3D" colors

This is a common problem that was NOT caused by watching the 3D movie! Bad solder connections on the high voltage transformer have caused a solder in fuse to blow. The transformer will have to be resoldered and the fuse replaced.

No picture - only sound

Ok, on a hi-def tv, you must have a converter box capable of receiving Hi-def. If you are using a converter box from a satalite or cable tv service, try getting a Hi-def box. Also try hooking a vcr or dvd player to the tv in the non high def ports to varify that this is the problem. If you have any question please let me know, I hope this helps, good luck.

Digital converter

If you recieve your signal on this TV over the Air (Rabbit Ears) then Yes you will need a digital Converter for this TV. If you are hooked up to Cable or a Satalite Dish, your TV will continue to work without the converter box.

Mitsubishi WD-62327 Screen is very dim

I tooked the front screen off the TV set. I fallowed the instructions from another wrighter. The Bottom mirror was clouded with dust. I used a cleaner made for cleaning ipods and put it back together with instant success. I had not cleaned it since I got it almost four years ago. I just thought it was getting dim.

As far as the VCR playing black and white it also an easy fix. The Satalite Service man was swapping out my receiver and inadvertaly put the device on componite side of the TV. I put them back on Inpute 1 and 2 and they also work just fine. Thank you for your help.

reading other people porblems I was able to repair it on my own.

Hooking up a tv

Hi first of all are you using scart leads to plug into each device here is how it should be set up ok
1. Scart lead from dish network into vcr
2. then other scart from vcr into tv
3. Now ti recieve the signal from the dish network you need to have the telly on the right av channel so that its picking up the signal from the vcr.
you can test this by changing the channel on the vcr controll or direct via buttons on vcr.
If the channels change then your on the right av channel.
Now when your on right channel on telly you need to now make sure dish network is on and on a channel or press the tv guide button just so you know what your looking for when the picture comes through.
You need to press av on the vcr controll this will then pick up the signal from the dish network via the scart lead as av is the channel for scart lead.
say if you was recording from dish net to vcr you would put the vcr on av to pick up the signal so press av on vcr controll this should then allow you to watch the dish network with no problems.
Let me know if you still cant and ill assist you further if it dont work tell me what you have done so i know how much you have done ok

Lost my picture when went to pip

Check your PIP source. I couldnt figure out my LCD pip, and why it wasnt working either until I was able to switch the source. It was automatically using a source that didnt have anything hooked up to, I had to switch mine in order for it to work. Try that and see if that might be the case. let me know. thanks!
