Several of the CVS brand blood pressure monitors are made by MicroLife USA. For those models, the Error 3 indicates that you may have been moving your arm while the unit was obtaining the readings. You need to repeat the measurement while staying still.
The other possible cause of the error are that the cuff didn't inflate in a reasonable length of time. Check that the cuff is properly placed on your arm. Also make sure that the inflation hose is tightly connected to the cuff socket on the unit.
I hope this helps.

Hi, Clear all values If you are sure that you want to permanently remove all stored values, hold down the "M" button (the instrument must have been switched off beforehand) until "CL" appears and then release the button. If you do not want to clear the values, press the On/off button. To permanently clear the memory, press the "M" button while "CL" is flashing.

Since that BP Monitor has a 5 year warranty. Your best bet is to contact HoMedics (the manufacturer) Customer Support @ 800-456-3342. That's assuming you replaced the old batteries with new one's out of a in date package and all are placed properly.
