My refrigerator it's not cooling bu the freezer

My refrigerator it's not cooling but
the freezer works

Not knowing the age of the box. There are several areas of concern. The older refrigerators have manual damper controls. The manually rotated controls in the back of the fresh food area. The newer boxes have computer controlled dampers. The air flow damper device in the older or newer may be defective. It is normally mechanical and not electronic. Which means the damper has broken. It is an easy repair , but, the cost may be prohibited.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

You have the fridge in warranty period and so must be consulted. It is possible that the compressor motor/compressor has failed.hence the noise was heard prior to this failure.Advise you to contact Whirlpool for free replacement.

American fridge/freezer - fridge stopped cooling, freezer side ok

Have you pulled out the refrigerator and cleaned or used a vacum cleaner to get out the dirt and dust off the back of the coils, or if the coils are underneath, you need to get an inexpensive appliance brush for fridge, and clean the coils under the fridge, pull off the panel on the front bottom of the fridge, get a flash light and look to see if the coils are covered in dust....may just need to vacum and use appliance brush underneath...this should be done at least one a year, you will notice your fridge running much better and cooling back to normal.......hope this helps......

GSS25VGMD refrigerator not cooling evenly

i would observe the back wall for frost or ice accumulation if there is i would check the defrost circuit. the heater would be first, if it is good check the sensor is more than suspect. the defrost sensor is the one on top of the evaporator. If no ice is present open the door and feel the cabinet where the gasket touches on the frame. if it is extremly warm that would indicate that your condenser fan on the bottom at the back of the unit is out, this would also cause the symtoms you are having

The freezer is working fine but the refridgerator is not cool enough

Sounds like your frig is not defrosting. Locate defrost timer and start manually. If that solves the problem, replace defrost timer. Another possibility is that the evaporater fan in the freezer compartment is not working. Both items easy to replace.

Fridge/Freezer combo - Freezer working fine but fridge is not

There is a duct between the freezer and refrigerator. Sometimes this duct blocks off with ice and won't allow airflow. Open your refrigerator door and check for air flow if there is none the duct needs to be defrosted. turn off freezer/ refrigerator and defrost.
