SOURCE: The Media Center system doesn't work

Unplug the media center power at the rear power plug. Leave off for 20 seconds. Remove the AdaptIQ headsets plugged into the AUX input. Power the system back up but leave alone for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes come back and press the "open/close" button the wait 30 seconds or more for the tray to open. Be patient, the media center is processing a huge amount of data and needs time to respond to your commands. It is important to leave the media center undisturbed for approximately 10 minutes after running AdaptIQ setup. After about ten minutes, power down the power back up. You should be ready to go after that.

SOURCE: Bose lifestyle 12 music center display inop

My display has not been working for years. Replaced c17 cap wich was 33uF 63 volts on lower pcb board( only one on system) . Old cap was good so this was not the problem. Replaced c16 wich was 100uF 25 volts with a 100uF 63volts. Display works, old cap read low. Both c17, and c16 are located on the lower left hand corner of the larger pcb looking from the front of the unit. Hope this helps.

Display screen led light wont come on

If the display has been gradually fading and is now unreadable, the fault is almost certainly loss of emission of the fluorescent display and it will need a replacement display module fitted (at a Bose Service Centre)
Is there any sign of characters showing in a darkened room?

If it has suddenly gone off, with all other radio features are working as normal, but prior to this the display was bright and clear, and the set has not been subjected to a fall or a sudden sharp impact of some kind, (which can crack the display module and cause it to fail) then the most likely possibilities are; a failed filament supply to the display module, a failed high tension supply rail to the display module, or loss of data feed to the display. It is also possible there may be a fault in the day/night brightness switching circuitry that has shut the display down completely. It is not possible to be more specific without seeing the unit, or even knowing which model it is I'm afraid.

BOSE LIFESTYLE 50 REMOTE CONTROL NOT WORKING

FOR THE BOSE LIFESTYLE 50 SYSTEM (Model P1 - Personal Music Center remote)
You can re-calibrate the remote first by following the steps below:
1. press and hold down on the display screen in the top middle area of the remote
2. After a few seconds the word CAL will appear in the middle and the word SOURCE will appear in the top left area of the remote.
3. Press the SOURCE button.
4. The word KEYPAD will appear in the top right area of the remote
5. Press the KEYPAD button and a small circle will appear in the bottom right of the remote.
6. Press the Circle
This should've recalibrated the remote.
If you need to relink the remote to the system, HOLD down the mute button while having the remote as close as possible to the unit. You will hear a beep . Release the button, after a pause , you will hear the remote beep twice.
This re-links the remote to your system
If the backlight is not working, your options are
1. Spend $349 and get a new one from Bose Or
2.Spend $220 and get a used one on E-bayOR
3. Use your remote with the lights on so that you can see the display :-)...the cheapest way OR Invest in an LED Book light that you can clamp on the remote and use that for your light ($9.99)

Hello I have a bose surround sound system in my house, both inside and out. It appears that only the inside portion of the surround system works and the remote for the outside portion the RC48S2-27 model...

I think we're discussing the Personal Music Center II.

I had to back into the product from the remote model number. Can we assume you also have one of the compatible LS systems (18 or 28 Series II or the 38 or 48) ?

You can go to Bose.com and search for it or register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Bose-Personal-Music-Center-II-Universal-Remotes-manual/id/526dj583/t/2/

The first item in Troubleshooting (page 28) might explain what's happening.

Bose Lifestyle 12 Music Center DISPLAY display light number its not working anymore

I have had problems similar to this on many devices and it is usually a dud LED (light). You can technically de-solder the current LED and replace it but it's not a job for anybody without very good soldering skills.

Check to see if your system is still in warranty as this should be covered. Any electronics repair shop should be able to fix this for you.
