SOURCE: How do you remove the burner part of a coleman

The Coleman website has a pretty excellent list of owners manuals. (Here's the link for the 9921A700)
I believe that you unscrew the burner assembly on the right, which will then let you remove the cooktop to clean inside and re-assemble.
This procedure is not listed on the Coleman website or in the owners manual, however it appears to be fairly straightforward. I'd recommend using some teflon tape on the threads when screwing the burner assembly back on.

Take the entire grill to your local propane company, so they can look at it and replace it on site for you. Call around first, as some places no longer have a repairman on site at any given time.

Coleman road trip is hooked to a 20 lb tank but when turned on, small amount of gas comes, then quits. appears to me as if regulator is not working. cannot use grill at all. lloyd

Lloyd, the regulator isn't working. But the problem generally, easily solved, if you follow the directions below.

To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!! And thanks for choosing FixYa.

Other than replace the burner valve, there's not anything you can do. Apparently. it got jammed somehow, perhaps during the it's time in storage between uses or someone tried to force the valve.
Who knows? In any event, if you want to find the replacement part, go to the following link.

http://www.coleman.com/coleman/parts/Productimage2.asp

If you don't see the part needed ( the numbers on the exploded view of parts are incorrect) call Coleman 1-800-835-3278.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a road trip grill model 9949, one burner burn high and yellow, the other is normal.

There may be some grease or other debris around the problem burner. It could be causing a high flame. Clean around it well, then turn it on and leave it running for a minute or two.
