If unplug 24-48 hours, it works again for a couple of days, then quits again.

OK, it sounds like you have a defrost problem. When left unplugged for a few days the frost melted off the evaporator (the cooling coils behind the freezer wall) but after you ran it again, the coils blocked the air flow again, usually happens after a week or so, depending on # of door openings, humidity in home, etc. Most likely you have a burnt out defrost heater.

sounds like its freezing up on you. check the drain outlet and make sure that its clear. also i would replace the defrost timer on this unit because its suppose to bring on the heaterfs to melyt the ice so thaat yoiu don't have to. they are around 30 mdollars at the appliancew repair store and all you need is the model number and serial number for the uit. after you get it it's either on the very top of the refrigerator section or in the very back. It has 4 wires going to it. good luck.
Your defrost system is bad. Replace the defrost thermostat and defrost heater in the freezer.

Sounds like a main control board bad . A model number would help .
SOURCE: Evap fan stops running/low cooling, Unplug Frig Evap fan runs
Is there anything obstructing the fan area, ice build up ? It is normal for your freezer to get warm if evap fan is not working, it is essential for it to work :) A defrost cycle should kick on a timer or as needed (adaptive) and there should not be excessive frost buildup that it blocks your evap fan. I would have suggested you unplug your refrigerator for about 10 minutes and see if that resets your control board - if not, then you will need service - either replacing motor assembly or a faulty control board.
