Throw it way and buy new. It has done well and something is binding inside. If you use it a lot, but a full size blender.

This happened to me, and I was told by the company that I had to purchase a brand new base, that the plastic turning device can not be repaired. If it is under warranty, you may not have to pay anything but shipping, and maybe not that either. If you do not have the number to the company, go on-line and and search for it. Call the company and report what the problem is.
