There are no updates for the Initial products. This is normal with companies who are not in the business of making GPS but felt they needed to try. I suggest staying away from companies like Initial, Sony, JVC, Cobra and so on it you want a quality GPS.

Have you tried re-flashing the unit with the latest EU firmware update available from the JVC website? http://www.jvc-victor.co.jp/english/car/support/navi/nt1/eu/index.html Should overide the current firmware then allow you to use UK maps. If it doesn't work you can always reflash it with the USA update.
