The saw starts but dies out under cut and it will not stay running while idling
Adjust the L screw in fully till right in,then out 1.5 turns, same with H screw. Then start saw, adjust L screw in or out slowly till you get max revs. You may need to lower idle via idle screw if revs too high. When screw cant acheive better revs, reset idle. Then, rev saw to max revs, adjusting H screw to get max revs, then when max revs acheived, turn screw anti clockwise 1/4 turn out. That gives it enough petrol to cool the tip of the plug

i'll bet you have it flooded. Try a dry sparkplug. pull it over a few times with the plug out to help dry the cylinder out too
SOURCE: i have poulan micro xxv chain not being oil when
wow thats an oldie, That saw uses a diaphragm pump located just above and in front of the clutch drum. Its going tobe hard to find one if its bad, Try cleaning out the oiler hole in the bar first, Then try running the saw without the bar and chain on and see if it pumps. Also check the oil pickup tube in the tank, It has a small screen on the end of it thats prone to sawdust clogging it. If it still does not oil then I suggest you locate the gasket and diaphragm for the pump before you take it apart. Remember to clean everything before reassembling,, Good luck
