The hose for this model when torn can only be replaced. With a torn hose you will loose suction from your floor nozzle, and performance will be decreased.

SOURCE: The brushes on my Hoover Steamvac Widepath LS SpinScrub model # F6040 900 are not spinning. What should I do to get the brushes spinning again?

On those models the brushes are turned by suction.
1. Check the lower tank to be sure its completely closed and sealed.
2. Check the lower tank to be sure the tools filler plate is in place (if you used the tools recently)
3. If both 1&2 ok, manually turn the brushes, if they do not turn freely you may have a stuck turbine or bad brush block.
4. Take the brush block out by releasing the tabs on each corner being careful not to break them.
5. Place a large flat blade screwdriver in the square drive hole that drives the brushes under the machine. Gently turn. It should turn slowly with some resistance. If it turns slowly it is ok. If it turns with no resistance it may be bad as well. If it will not you may be able to break it loose with some even pressure being careful not to strip the hole. If it will not turn or makes a lot of noise replace the Turbine assembly.
6. If the brush block has a broken drive shaft or will not turn replace the brush block.

Here is what that brush block should look like.

REPLACE HOSE ON HOOVER H3000 FLOORMATE

For our H3000, the "water channel hose" was torn (15+ years later, still worth it to keep the SpinScrub going... however it appears the exact part w/ end pieces is no longer available).

So, what's promising is that the old hose can be removed from the 2 end pieces -- found out that the "1.5 inch tubing" from Amazon is a bit too difficult to thread into. Looking for a more suitable size, perhaps 1.25 (OD - outer diameter) because of this.

Many thanks, responses above are great -- here's a WEBSITE with fantastic PHOTO DETAILS step-by-step I came across... thanks everyone!

I need a replacement hose assembly for the hoover steamvac jr. any suggestions where i might find the part?

Only through a Hoover warranty/ service center if still available. If not save your hose ends and find a different hose with adaptable ends

I have a Hoover steamvac ultra. The handheld hose

If you have installed the hose properly, try to hold your hand over the suction end with the cleaner on to prime the water in the hose. There is no way to dissasemble the hose. You could have a possibility of a few thing that have failed,
1. the pump that feed the hose
2. the valve on the hose end
3. the check valve where you connect te hose to the machine
Also verify that you are dispensing solution to the floor, if so, then the above needs to be checked.
Have it looked at at repair shop for diagnosis

How do I get the handtool to work on my Hoover Steamvac carpet cleaner?

Please reference page 11-12 on this manual:
http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/F6039900.pdf

The tools are plugged on to the end of the hose, and the hose supplies water and vacuum to the tool.

Soap/water solution pouring out on floor when trying to use hose & attachments

The attachment hose is torn right where it connects to the motor . And there should be a trigger on the end of the hose right below where it connects to the hand tool.

Hose

You will have to replace the hose. If you want to get it thru Sears, go to Sears.com, click on parts, enter the model number, if they have it in their system, you can find the part there and order it. Or take the model number and go to where someone has Hoover parts and buy it thru them.
