I am a Support Engineer with Xerox Scanners.
The problem that you are describing could be a result of dirty or worn rollers, or a worn ADF page separator pad. There would have been an extra pad in the original box that the scanner came in. If you no longer have this pad, you can order the maintenance kit here. This kit will also include the necessary components to clean the feed rollers.
If the feed rollers are worn out, you will need to have the scanner serviced.
