You probably have a bad fan thermostat. This thermostat is supposed to turn on the vent fan if the microwave oven gets too hot (caused by cooking too much or having too many burners turned on on the range beneath the microwave oven). It should shut off in about 15 minutes after your turn off the range burners. But if it comes on for no reason, or won't turn off, then You probably have a bad fan thermostat.

That would almost certainly be a problem on the control circuit board. If the bulbs happen to short / blow out or if they are removed or installed while the microwave is still plugged in, there is often an arc which causes damage to the board. In some Whirlpool models, there are more than one fuse, and two or more thermal devices which can interrupt power to the oven.
There
should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit
behind the
control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is
very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
