1974 johnson outboard motor 25hp stalls when trying to plane out boart points caberator fuel pump replaced .motor start and runs ok at three quarter speed but stalls out when hiting high end

Not familiar with that specific motor but had similar vintage smaller HP Johnsons. From my experience it sounds like it could be that the high speed carb adjustment is too lean. What I would try is running the backing off the high speed screw 1/4 turn to 3/4 turn, then test. If works better, screw back in in 1/8 turn increments until the problem recurs, then back out 1/4 turn and leave it there.

1974 Johnson 70 hp outboard, quits on acceleration.

It sounds like your motor is starving for fuel. At an idle, you have adequate flow to keep the engine running. When you call for more fuel...you sputter and quit. Could be a clogged filter or trash in the line or in a jet. Yes you will have some air in the bulb, but not a great deal. You could be sucking air at a hose connection (loosing some prime)...try this, start the engine and slowly accererate, have someone pump the bulb as you accelerate, see if the engine works properly while doing this test.

25hp johnson outboard motor was completely rebuild with new plugs and wires ,rebuilt carberator, new fule pump, new points and condensers. motors starts up and runs failly good and runs and 3/4 speed ok....

I would check if the fuel hoses are big enough diameter AND the fuel level in the carburettor is high enough...

1974 60hp johnson outboard won't run on full throttle under load , max 10%. New fuel and filters ect. The motor is old but has very low hours.

Carbs probably need to be cleaned and re-built. Common problem in outboards that havent been run in a while
