I have a Panasonic DMR-EH75V DVD Recorder (purchased new) - has worked fine for years Now, suddenly, it turns tself off after being on for about 75 seconds - regardless of whether recording, playing or any other mode. I've tried the up/down channel reset, holding on/of button for 10 sec, and even unplugging it from power for several hours - no change. Any other suggestions?
It could be overheating.. Is it fairly consistent at 75 seconds? To test put the unit in the fridge for 30 minutes then quickly connect it up and test. If it is longer then 75 seconds then something is getting to hot. I've put hard drives (especially laptop ones) in the freezer if I need to copy off data but it clicks/stops working at room temp.

since there was power failure , the settings( channel guide) that u had programmed has got earsed completly & u will have to reprogram (memorise)them
this has happened because there is a small capacitor(looks like a small battery) which keeps the memory has lost its charge & needs to be replaced.its job is to store the details in case of power failure!!!

ive had this in the work shop befor the cogs can come lose inside the machine if your handy with a screw driver unplug from the mains and take the top of the machine and see if anything has come lose, 50% of the time you can fix this yourself if not you would have to contact panasonic and get them to send a engineer out to you.

My remote is not working. When I press a button, I get the following message on my unit: U12, U30, SET #, CHK REMOTE #, or RC #. What can I do to fix this? The message displayed means that the remote control and unit are not communicating and the remote needs to be programmed. To program the remote, press and hold the same number that is displaying on the unit and the [ENTER] or [OK] button for more than 2 seconds. For example, if the unit displays “SET 2”, press and hold [2] and [ENTER] or [OK] for more than 2 seconds.

Plug AC power cord to wall electric socket if it is plugged into a surge protector or extension, if not try a different socket, if issue still exist have unit service.
