You would normally connect a Blu-ray player to the TV using an HDMI cable. A digital optical audio cable connects the Blu-ray player to the home theater system.

Start movies on my Blue Ray Player through my TV

It all depends of how you have connected the dvd (blue ray). see the cable going from your player to the television and take note of the name of the input socket and on your tv remote you will have a source button, this will present you with all the avalaible inputs, just select the one.

I just bought a Blue Ray player but my surround sound has a dvd player built in and only one input which I have my new Sharp TV plugged into. How can I hook up my Blue Ray . I have the HDMI cables

Depending on if your surround system has a hdmi input or not. if it does you can connect the blu-ray player to it. If it doesn't have an hdmi input you will have to run the hdmi cable from the blu-ray to the tv then run a set of rca cables (red and white plugs) from the tv audio out to the surround systems' audio input jacks to get sound through the surround system. Most surround systems don't have an auxiliary input for another video device.

I have a mitsubsihi ws-65907 and hooed up a sony blue-ray dvd player, I can only get a 480i resolution, is there a way to change it to 1080i?

Make sure the cables from the blue ray player are hooked up to the right 1080 high def input jacks on the back of the TV. There is two different sections, one for regular 480 inputs and another for the 1080i....

Can not get my new 42 " Aquos TV to work with my new blue ray DVD

A blu ray player will play on any television. The television might not however have the highest resolution to display the full capability of a blue ray. That being said, the blu ray player may be faulty the connections may be incorrect. I would recommend running an HDMI cable from the A/V out on the blu ray to the HDMI input on the TV. GOod Luck

Hdmi inputs stopped working

It sound like the cable box or the Blue ray player is set to high - such as 1080P when the set is only rated at 720 - try scaling the output down and see if that helps
