After printing an invoice it does advance to top of next form

Quickbooks runs invoice numbers in sequence. If you overwrite an invoice number (for example, QB may number an invoice number 2, and you may change it to 3), then QB will not remember your selection, and its next number will be 3. Under edit preferences, select to warn of duplicate numbers, and then you can fix the problem before finalising the invoice.

Invoices and other forms are built in the Quickbooks software and you can just simply print it on a plain sheet of paper. You can simply click on the print icon on top to print the invoice that you have created.

However, If you want pre-customized company sheets (invoice, envelopes) for your company you can order it directly from Intuit together with your checks.

Open QuickBooks. Then go to File at the top left side of the page. Then scroll down to set up printer. Choose the form you wish to be able to print in QuickBooks and this will take you to a place to choose your default printer. Click the arrow next to the name of the printer it has stored as default and choose your printer (hp photosmart) and then close the window and this will save your choices. Repeat the same procedure for each form name you wish to print in QuickBooks.

Open the apply payments window and choose the customers name at the top. Click next to the invoice that you want to pay and then at the bottom of the screen look for the button that says discounts and credits. Click on it and then choose credits. The credit should be listed there to apply to the invoice. If you have tried these steps

Go 'Lists' and then open 'Templates', double click on the product invoice and make sure the invoice is 'Active'.
Qbooks saves printer settings for each feature, regardless of which is set as 'default' in Windows...be sure you have the correct printer selected.

When you get to the "Print" window, there should be the area where it says the type of printer. There is also a drop-down arrow. Click on the arrow and highlight your HP printer.
