Just remove the CMOS battery for a few seconds, then put it back. The BIOS password will now be reset.

SOURCE: default bios password toshiba satellite a135-s2276

I have a Satellite A135-S2356 that had the same problem. I tried the solution from PCTServices above and it worked great.

"Power unit off. Disconnect AC power. Remove battery. Remove the memory cover screw, memory cover and the memory modules. Peel back mylar from JOPEN1 solder pad. Short JOPEN1 solder pads for 30 seconds. Replace mylar. Replace memory modules. Replace battery. Power up unit. If all is well, replace memory cover and screw."
Just short the two little solder pads and it worked great! I thought I would have to send it back to the manufacture but I am back in buisness. Thanks for the help.

what you need to do is pull both the laptop battery as well as the cmos battery. in some instances, the battery can be pulled, but on other models, i have seen the battery as an actual physical part on the motherboard or somewhere where it is not easily accessible, in which case you need to clear the cmos by using a jumper on the motherboard, since it is a laptop, they are all different. you may need to see if you can locate a copy of the motherboards schematics and go from there.

SOURCE: how to remove bios password for Toshiba Satellite A200

If you know the current password, use it to enter BIOS SETUP.
Then, type a "blank" ("space-bar") as the "new" password.

If you don't know the current password, you're stuck;
this is a "security" feature to prevent a stolen laptop from being used by the thief.

SOURCE: need to unlock BIOS password

Unfortunately there is no easy fix. Removing the CMOS battery does not work nor are there jumpers on the MB. The only way to get it reset is to go to an authorized Toshiba dealer or repair facility and have them do it. This is going to cost you since normally it is not covered under warranty.

SOURCE: toshiba a120 bios password

It cannot be removed using software.

To remove the password you will have to remove the CMOS battery located on the lower side of the motherboard.

To access the battery the computer must be disassembled completely.

It's completely possible your CMOS (small BIOS battery) inside the laptop has died. If you are able to disassemble a laptop yourself, go here:

http:www.irisvista.com/tech/

You'll need to remove the CMOS and reassemble.

If not, try to find a friend who can help you download "Hiren's Boot CD" which has tools for resetiing BIOS and other Passwords. Be careful what you do. Study blogs about whatever steps you intend to take and be patient.

Try going into bios utility and check to see if there is a HDD enable option. If not, find another pc and burn a bootable bios disc with the original bios.
