Since upgrading to Leopard I can not print CD/DVDs.Software used during problem: EPSON Print CD Version 1.4.0A I get the following message. The EPSON printer driver dealing with CD printing is not installed. I have reinstalled the EPSON Print CD software and drivers but still get the same message. Any solutions?
I had the same problem with an Epson R340 printer and Epson Print CD software after installing Leopard. Here's what I did. Go to System Preferences. Select Print & Fax. Select the "+" box on the lower left part of the screen. Select Epson Printer -- USB and click "Add" and "continue" in the box that comes up (if it does). Now see if Epson Print CD will print to a CD. If it does, great. You can now actually go back to System Preferences and Print & Fax and delete the printer you just added by clicking on the "-" box and Epson Print CD will still work. Now I found another problem with printing. The CD printing is now off center to the right and down, so in Epson Print CD program you have to click on print and from the print screen click on "Position Adjustment" in the bottom left corner. I've found the perfect position is 3.5 mm up and 3.5 mm left to make everything print perfectly. Good luck.
Eric603's hint is part of what helped me. Make sure you use the Epson driver and not Gutenberg or something similar. One of my printer used the wrong driver although the Epson was installed.... Furthermore I had to select "Update Printer Information" from the "File" menu within Print CD. Now it works with my R1800 and R800.
hope this helps, Karsten
I've had this problem with different macs for the past few years with my epson R220.
In order to print directly to a CD, I've had to fire up my original Bondi Blue iMac to do so.
So Slow.
I finally found the solutions that work
go here for the instructions from epson
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supAdvice.jsp?type=highlights¬eoid=94207
I am running 10.4.11 and even though the preference pane looks
different, it functionality is the same. Take time to let it find new
drivers
I also opened the printer cd tray cover after restarting my printer.
I also(maybe most importantly)went to the Russian Epson website for the
Driver. They also have the Epson Print CD utility for download (the US
site doesn't offer this, but you can purchase a replacement Install CD
for $11.00)
It's in Russian, but the important information is in English. Your
system will change the install to English automatically too.

After deleting your printer, restarting the printer (you cannot just
unplug the usb cable, you have to turn it off and then back on) and
adding the printer again in system Preferences, let it find the new
driver.
Then after opening the Epson Print CD program, run 'update printer
information' under the 'file' menu at the top of the screen. It should
take some time for it to update. If it takes only a second, it didn't
work and you might have missed a step, so you might have to start over.
Good Luck
New mac on OSx 5.
printer rx560
no driver to print on cd...
follow lightshards intructions but download rx580 driver
Using the Epson r380, after updating Tiger, I was getting the now ubiquitous "the epson printer driver dealing with cd printing is not installed", even after installing the drivers from the original disc and the epson website (more than a couple tries!)
What finally worked for me was, from within Easy Print, clicking on >File>Update printer information. It works! Not sure why or how this all went so wrong, but good news is good news.
Hope this helps someone else.
For R340 Printer------- Check mark the (share this printer ) and make sure you are sharing with your computer name. stop being greedy(hahha) this is all done in system pref-printer and fax. hopefully this will help

First, install "epson easyprint" from the epson website. Its found under drivers and support for your unit.
Then click ok on that error message about "driver dealing with..."
After
you click ok on the message, you will get another window where you will
find a "manual print" button. Click on this manual print button and
this will take you to the next window where you have to select "A4 as
the paper size" and "CD/DVD as the paper type and paper path" . After
this, click print... it should start to print! This is just a
workaround until epson gets a patch for leopard for print
cd........hopefully

You will nee the latest version of Print CD version 1.6 or above. Version 2 can now be downloaded from the Epson website free of charge. You will also need the latest Easy Print Module and latest printer driver.

Didn't try reinstalling yet. That should not be the fix
Epson owes us a real fix
I have a RX580 all-in-one that no longer works. Tried to install the latest driver from Epson, reinstalled Easy Print and Epson Print CD software. Also made sure that the correct driver was selected in the Printer System Preference (it doesn't always auto-select correctly). I even tried Epson support - they said it isn't 100% compatible w/ Leopard. I'm bumming.
"the EPSON printer driver dealing with CD printing is not installed"
I have tried, among other thing, down loading & installing new drivers from the epson web site.
No luck
I did install the original cd driver that came with my R-320 and uninstall the one came on leopard. The problem persist
Karsten's post has the answer! Print CD would not work on My new Photo RX 595. I got the same iritating error message about Print Cd driver not installed. I re-installed 3 times with no results...UNTIL I selected "Update Printer Information" from the "File" menu while Print CD program is open. My Mac gave no indication of an update or file download, but seconds after hitting the Update Printer Information button, I sent another print job and it worked. Such a simple solution to a widespread problem. WAKE UP EPSON! Great printer, but stupid install process.
I have tried at least 10 times to install. I hope this does not mean I have to buy a new printer.
when I update the printer in print cd it quits and still does not work
Same error message:
driver dealing with CD/DVD print is not installed.

Yes, this works: choose:
