SOURCE: Ipad disabled b/c son forgot his password...help us get in?

If your son cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your iPad using the computer you last synced your iPad with. Using the last computer you synced with allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync all your data, apps, etc.

To begin the process, connect the iPad to your computer using the USB cable or lightning cable. Open iTunes and select the restore option.

If you restore on another computer, you can still unlock the device and remove the passcode, but your data and apps will be wiped.

Hope that helps!

A disabled ipad.

When you've forgot the lock screen password of your iPad tablet, you get 6 tries of the password entering. After that, the only way you could do is restore you iPad to Factory Settings, which would then no doubt delete your data and files on iPad. The lost data and files would not be backed up on iTunes then. In such case, the only way you could recover data and files from locked iPad is to use 3rd-party data recovery software app. Feel free to read this article to know how to recover files from your locked iPad.

How do I transfer my new password to my new ipad as I cannot use

You cannot transfer a password. Each device has its own password. If it was possible to transfer a password, any stranger from another device could transfer their own password to your ipad, then you would be locked out of your own personal ipad.

Don't remember password for ipad

You don't need to know your password for the iPad. As long as you know the password for your iTunes account, you used to setup the account on the iPad for. Connect the iPad with the computer and open iTunes and give in the password for the iTunes account. Apple will unlock the iPad and you can setup a new pass code for the iPad.
When you forgot your iTunes password, you have to contact Apple and prove you are the legal owner of the account.

How to unlock ipad if I forgot password

If you forgot iPad password, there still are several methods to unlock iPad. Here take one of them as an instance.

If you've neither synced with iTunes nor set up Find My iPhone in iCloud, you'll need to wipe your iPad to factory setting to remove the password, which means you'll suffer losing all your data on iPad and get it as a new one.
Please pay attention there is a slight difference in putting different models of iPad into recovery mode.
iPad Air
  • 1. Turn off your iPad Air, press and hold the Home button.
  • 2. While holding the Home key, connect the USB cable to the device. Wait until the Apple logo appears and keep holding the Home button for few more seconds.
  • 3. Continue holding the Home button until the iTunes logo appears.
iPad mini/iPad pro
