Printing irregularites on sent faxes are due to spots or a dirty scanner.
Spaces on received faxes are due to a dirty drum, corona wire, or a failing or improperly installed toner cartridge. A new cartridge should be gently shaken back and forth sideways prior to installation.
most likely its a defective toner unit, they have a chip on them that tells the machine when it was installed, and how much life it has remaining. if the machine doesn't recognise that its a new toner cartridge its probably a defecive unit. you should return the cartridge from where you got it and try another.
