Nokia E51 can not be charged using the mini usb port.

First remove the battery and then re-insert. Switch on your handset. Reset your handset to "Factory Default Settings" from Setting Menu. Hope your problem will be solve. If still you have problem then upgrade the FIRMWARE of your handset from the nearest Nokia Care.

You may need to upgrade the firmware of this phone. My advise is to bring it to the authorized Nokia Care Center for proper firmware upgrade.
