My fridge started putting of a bad smell about a 2 weeks ago. I took everything out cleaned with water and bleach soulution. smell was still there. I finale called an appliance man. He came over took apart everything inside. then he went in back. the smell was bad back there. he cleaned the drip pan real well with a bleach soulution and a wet vac. we noticed that the drain line from the freezer had no trap or check valve to stop oders from going back into the freezer. after he left the smell came back I repeted the procces of cleaning the pan but can still get that bad smell. I have checked all parts looking for something that might have spilled on a coil but have found nothing. Is there and part that might be putting off that smell? the fridge works fine except for the smell.
Have you tried pouring bleach water through the drains in the fridge?

Yes I also used a vinegar and water soulution still have the smell. Thank's though.
We have already flushed out the drain pipe with dilute bleach and this cleared up the smell for about 6 months, but the smell has returned. Is replacing the drain hose a simple option?
