How do I find the base id on my Ativa d5772 phone

New battery or new phone.

I would tend to say if the unit is not holding a charge and the battery is connected correctly inside the phone, then the battery pack is bad. If the unit is heavily used and is a over a year old then it is possible the battery is bad. If the unit is newer, I would tend to lean with an issue with the base unit that would not be repairable.

Below the LED display of the BASE phone, press MENU. Scroll down to DISPLAY BASE-ID and press OK. Enter that 15 digit number into the handset.

It charges through the computer via a USB Cable. there is no power adapter for it.

I plugged in the base. Hmm, was that important??

I had a similar issue the battery is on ebay but its more commonly used in the Vtech or General Electric Phones under the same model number ex.89-1324-00-00

I just got a 3rd handset for the same phone system and were having the same error message,,, the at&t help line does not know what it is,.,. We returned it once and got another one because of the same problems, and were still having it.. AT & T help line said to return it again and try another one .. then he actually said to replace the whole phone system .. thats easier said than done! we paid 199 plus tax on the system and then another 81.00 for the third handset!

I now have a .pdf file of the owners manual for this phone system. It took me over a month to get it from the Ativa customer service dept. and 3 calls. BUT I can email it to you if you wish, understand it's a 7MB .pdf file.
