SOURCE: ink cartridge light keeps blinking BEWARE SPAM NUMBER 1-800-532-4187
you need to print only in black if that is all the ink you have, and also you need to remove the color cartridge as it still registers in the printer as able to be used, although it is empty or near so. Did you remove the tape over the print head fron the new ink cartridge? Do a print head alignment, or use the toolbox icon to tell the printer that you just replaced the cartridge. Some HP models chip the ink cartridges so even a refill wont register as a full tank and the printer wont print. chip needs to be reset (difficult) or just replaced with a new cartridge.
SOURCE: my printer wont print in color & its a new color ink cartridge
have the printer preferences been changed accidentally to print in greyscale? Is the cartridge installed correctly? Now and again if the cartridges are opened and not installed straight away the ink dries up in the nossel and clogs the printer head, easily rectified with some cleaning solution. Cartridges also go out of date. hope this helped

SOURCE: The ink light blinks all the time since I replaced the color
The ink light flashes when the top cover is open...check the switch that tells the printer when the cover is closed.
SOURCE: The ink cartridge I replaced in my printer is not working.
I have one of these printers (7210-7310) with this same problem and this is what is wrong with it. There is a small wire spring that holds the ink cartridge in place in each cartridge holder. Remove the color cartridge and inspect the ribbon cable (it gray) inside the ink cartridge holder. There is a big problem with these HP printers where the spring pokes a hole the ribbon cable breaking one of the wires and rendering the printer useless. Poor design by HP, sorry.

Please remove all the cartridges, clean the Contact points on the cartridges and on the Printer with alcohol/spirit/acetone using a soft brush, don't touch the print heads, you may damage them.
Turn off the printer, disconnect usb cable, power cord and ethernet cable (if any). Leave it Off for few minutes (fix minutes will be enough), also remove/disconnect the power cord from the mains.
Do some cleaning if you can.
Now press the power button several times. Connect the power cord and power on the Machine without anything installed/connected, again leave it On for few minutes and turn it off.
Connect the usb cable and ethernet cable, Switch on the printer and install the cartridges. If there's no internal problem this will definitely fix your problem.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.
