As I recall, I found a unit in the dumpster and took it home to check out. I turned it on and had power display but no heat. Started looking around for model number and other info.
As I was moving it I heard oil sizzling. The unit has worked since then. There are bimetallic switches inside of them. They tend to stick. Moving it around (dumpster trip, my trip home) allowed it to return to its proper position (normally closed).
I have ran into this with many coffee makers, bounce them around a bit and the sensor will reset.
Hope this helps you!!

Model NE-9970. After a storm-caused power outage, why does the microwave have no power to the control board?

Usually the microwave is plugged into a ground fault protected outlet. Push the buttons on the receptical and power should come on. The ground fault may be above your counter top and protects the plug your microwave is pluffed into.

Sony DVP-S7000 DVD player does not respond to front panel buttons or the remote control

The only possible solution and it is a long shot, unplug unit from wall receptical, now press and hold power for 60 seconds, this will drain any residual voltage and reset the microprocessor in hopes it will work. If this fails I recommend the sony technician.

Very poor FM receptio, and virtually no AM reception

The cascadia has an integrated AM-FM-WX, XM?, and CB antenna system, that is also prone to poor grounding. The best solution is to install aftermarket antenna systems for all of the equipment... I am driving a 2013 Cascadia with quite poor FM, and non existant AM, and WX reception. The XM works. I am afraid to hook up my CB to this, as it is pushing too much power, and is a sideband unit. I would like to hang the engineer by his/her toenails from the nearest tree for comming up with this garbage...

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. Are any of the cycle lights lighting up like rinse and normal and is the light on front blinking and pausing if so how many times is it blinking? Try turning the power off too the unit for five minutes and back on, because if the lid was open some or was stuck it can stop the unit from running.

My Etrex Legend would not aquire satellites and after several call to tech support, I finally reset the whole unit. First I saved the waypoints on Mapsource. Then with the unit off press and hold the page button (upper right) then push the rocker button in and then push the power button. Once it starts you can then release all the buttons and set the unit outside for about 20 minutes.

I have a garmin gpsmap 498, 4 yrs old. I have been loosing satellite reception. I have examined the coax cable- I do not see any issues. Where do I look?

Had same problem,,, you need to perform an "Auto-Locate" With unit plugged in but not turned on, push the Page and Power buttoms at the same time,,, continue to hold down the buttons until the "I Agree" message appears. Then release the buttons, agree by pushing Enter. The system will then go through an Auto Locate sequence that corrected my problem.
