Why does my xbox say system update required when i put in a game called terraria

Cause that game needs a new dash.Check what dash you are currently on by going to system settings and system info you will see the kernel there .it most likely is an old version so download this one( http;//download.digiex.net/Consoles/Xbox360/Dashboards/2.0.16747.0.zip)
1.) Unrar the download (i use winzip)
2.) Copy the $SystemUpdate folder to the root of a pc formatted USB Stick (The memory stick must be FAT or Fat32 formatted)
3.)With that extracted folder now on your USB, Insert the USB Stick into your Xbox 360 console.
4.) You will be automatically prompted to update with a USB stick. Power down the 360 and power it on again. You should be ask to update before the 360 boots to the dashboard.Click yes and wait for it to install then shut down.
5.) Once the update is complete your Xbox 360 will restart then boot up to the new dashboard.

that has to do with the actual video coding. try to clear the cache on your system then redo the update. this will only work 50% of the time after that you will have to send it off or get another. i had that exact problem and ended having to send mine off but they said to try it. it might work. (sorry for not thinking your problem through earlier.)

How do you update xbox360

All Xbox 360 system updates should update automatically when you power on your system or notify you of game/app updates upon selection of said game/app. First make sure your Xbox is connected to the internet and that it is working properly by running the network setup found in the guide menu. After running the setup and everything checks out restart your Xbox and see if an update message appears. If not there are 2 possibilities, 1 your Xbox is already up to date and no action is required and 2 you may have an update error that the following link should be able to help you perform a manual update. My game won't work because it need's a update

This can be a fairly easy fix if done correctly. I am a repair tech in Ga. and recently ran into this little trickster of a problem. Try this,,,
Power the console off. Press eject and insert a DIFFERENT game (I always use the Halo 4 install disc)
Your system is looking for a required update but it seems the disc you are using may be corrupt or damaged.
After trying a different game disc it should work out for ya. If not you can try this method.

Eject any discs. Power system off.
Find a 1-2GB USP flash drive and follow the instructions on this microsoft website...

Kinectic requires update

You must update. Xbox requires it for proper functioning in the xbox kinect system. This enables the xbox to recognize your kinect camera and adds more features. So you not updating it wont let it work. Its the way Xbox companies makes their money.

How do i update my xbox?

Just connect to Xbox Live if you are able. You dont need a gold account to get system updates. Another option is to download a system update and burn it to a CD/DVD or a flash drive. Then you can put that in the Xbox and it will update. I believe some games come with system updates (I'm not sure which).

Need system update

Connect your Xbox 360 to your router via an ethernet cable and download the update from directly from Xbox Live. Alternatively, you can download the update on your computer and either burn the file to a CD/DVD or drop the file onto a Memory Stick and put that into the Xbox to run the update. My son saved money and bought a Xbox 360 Arcade. He did not realize that he could not play his xbox games on his new system. Is there an upgrade to allow old xbox games to be played on on the xbox 360

Some game are compatible with the new xbox 360. They are called backwards compatible and you do need to flash upgrade the OS on the new xbox 360 system.

You need to go to the xbox website and go to support and download the flash update then burn it to disk and put it on the xbox to update the software. Again not all old games are compatible with the new xbox system. If your buying used games like I do make sure it says bc next to the title before buying them.
