Sounds like the RH speaker is faulty. You could try cross wiring them to check. (wires going to left speaker remove and wire to right and vice versa)

Sounds like an internal connection problem. open access panel and check the solder connection is not broken or loose. Be sure the metal mesh jacket is not touching the lead wire as that would cause a scratchy noise and feedback, or maybe near the internal cable causing feedback

SOURCE: Peavey amp shut down

The output stage has a problem. From your description, I'd guess that the high voltage supply has failed. The low volume and distortion suggests that you are trying to power the speakers from the driver section rather than the outputs. There is a resistor that fails in some of this series. If I remember correctly it is either a 2K or 3K resistor 10 watts in size. If you have no experience with repairs, I'd seek a service shop that is familiar with these units. The part runs between $5-$10.

SOURCE: the power of the Peavey Escort 3000 Portable PA

A failure probably occured in one of the power amps and has blown the fuse or worse. DO NOT replace the fuse and try to operate it as further damage may occur. Take it in for repair.

SOURCE: Wires to main speaker are, Yellow & Blue

Yellow should be the positive. Try plugging in and reversing. The louder of the two is the one in phase and the correct wiring. If the speaker is pushing out when playing , it is in phase and correct also.
The distortion problem could be a speaker going out. It may not be totally blown, but may be verging.
Holding your hand out as wide as you can push against the speaker lightly. If there is a rubbing or scratching sound, the speaker could be damaged. If it moves freely, and there is no scratching its okay.
Another possibility is the clean channel may have a channel volume set to high. Make sure the clean channel volume is set lower than the master volume otherwise you can get distortion on that channel too.
Good Luck.

SOURCE: Useing a Peavey XR 800F

First of all confirm if the speaker impedance is not lower then the recommended Ohms at the back of the Mixer speaker socket. You can use an 8 Ohms speaker on a 4 Ohms amplifier but not vise versa .
Next see if the fan on the mixer works. If not the Amp is getting very hot and this will lead to unwanted distortion. You can confirm if its a heat related issue by playing the mixer at low volumes for more than an hour and see if it distorts.

It sounds like the power supply is overheating, or an interconnect is becoming loose due to excess heat. This might be due to a faulty heat sensor, but counter-intuitively could also be due to a low voltage supply, that is, drawing more power than the circuit can handle so the voltage drops. Please check that the outlet(s) you are plugging in to are rated to supply enough power.
