Question about Washing Machines
How do i remove the spinner
Posted by Anonymous on
I pulled a spinner out of a LG washer a month ago, it's a tuff job, lay the machine over on it's side, pull the back panel. you will just about take the machine completely apart. the water jacket and basket have to come out of the housing. I suggest that you mark all connectors, I usually take masking tape and put it across the two halves of the connection and label it 'a' or one, what ever makes you happy, then start disconnecting them one at a time checking if it has to come apart to relieve the barrel from frame. As you start taking bolts and springs apart it ends up being self teaching, but if you are not very well mechanically inclined, you will not be able to do this job. take pix of everything so it will be allot easier to put it back together again. Remember it's not Humpty Dumpty, and can be put back together again, I did and had never done it before, wallah. Questions,[email protected]

It appears your belt has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question
