Turn off the electric and drain the tank. Completely remove the exit valve that is leaking and clean up the threads on the valve and in the hole. Get some plumbers dope and dope up the fitting threads and the threads in the hole and then reattach the exit valve. As a real precaution you may consider taking the plastic valve to the hardware store and getting a replacement one. Also dope that one up good.

Flashing code 76 is lost communication between the remote and the burner control assembly CCA (circuit card assembly). The CCA is still under warranty if purchased within the last 3 yrs. Contact Rheem customer service and have your Mod. and S/N available....explain to the agent you are recieving - flashing code 76...they'll walk you through the process.
SOURCE: TRYING TO REPLACE MY OLD RHEEM WATER HEATER MODEL
I would say your water heater is from the fury series; new model number 82V52-2. I've included a link with my solution that you should take a look at. You could also look at water heaters of a different brand if this one isn't available in your area. Kenmore, GE, and Hotpoint are all very good brands of water heaters.
