SOURCE: Dyson DC-07 Hose Wand Spring Came Out. How to put back in?
You'll see that there is a round piece with a cross shape on the inside of the button wand release button - place the end of the spring over the cross - you'll see the same cross on the collar of the machine...it'll take some doing, but line the other end of the spring up with the cross and pop the button back into place - be sure to click it onto those two gray circular/oval shaped divets at the bottom where the release button connects to so that the button stays in place.

The hose is getting twisted on the machine and so the wand gets stuck in the hose.
1) Pull the wand out as far as you can - if you can pull it out completely, separate it from the hose and apply baby powder to the
metal rod. Stretch out the hose and unwind it. In the future, separate the wand and unwind/stretch the hose after use.
2) If you can't pull the wand out all the way, remove the canister/dirt bin from the front. Look for a gray button with 7 vertical
lines/grooves on it (it'll be just above the ball on the opposite side of the bottom hook that you wind the cable around).
3) Push the button and at the same time pull the hose out from the bottom by pulling on the hook - this will release the gray hose
from the machine. Take it off of the machine if possible (the bottom of the wand may stop you from doing so - if it does, try to pull
the wand out until you can release the hose from the bottom)
4) Pull and stretch the hose out and pull the wand at the same time - separate the wand from the hose and unwind the gray hose and
stretch it out. Rub baby powder on the metal rod of the wand and in future, disconnect the wand from the hose and stretch/unwind the
hose after every time you use the wand.

Hi its Darran at Dyson.
It is possible that if the hose is blocked that the wand handle may become jammed. For help releasing this, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US) and one of our advisors can talk you through releasing this.
Kind regards
Darran

SOURCE: Hi. I have a Dyson
I think I figured this out. If the hose gets twisted too many times while being used, the pole has a hard time going in and out for removal. (Kind of like how old phone cords got all twisted up after use for a while) To get it out, lift the pole out as far as you can then tug on the hose pulling it down & out ways until you can work the pole all the way up to get it out. Once out, detach the hose from the wand and turn it a few time (I had to go counter clockwise) to un twist the hose a little. Seemed to fix this problem for me.

Hi Colleen,
I've responded to your previous question in the Dyson DC15 category, but if the model you own is actually a DC24, the directions for checking everything is correct with the machine will be slightly different. Please follow the steps shown in this support guide instead:
http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/help.asp?article=1492&product=DC24-ALLFLOORS
If you can't find any blockages but are still concerned about performance through the hose, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US) so we can help.
Kind regards,
Jack
