Amana model ALW480DAW Serial #10076307AL started leaking during the drain cycle and has become loud during the spin cycle. What would cause this can it be fixed?
U have to access the inside of ur unit by opening the sides ... if not dangerous run the unit and monitor it during draining mode ... same procedure also w/ the loud motor ..... by that way u can pinpoint what cause those problem

arlenekc,: That metal thing is part of the motor. What you have is a leaking water pump.
badwasher,: Check the lid switch. This machine will not spin or drain if the switch is faulty.

MIne did and it was the bleach container on the top that was getting clogged and leaking over, we actually drilled the hole a bit bigger and cleaned it all out and it stopped. I've had to take the whole top of the washer off to do this about 2-3 times now.

is this a whirlpool built amana? if so, its most likely a direct drive model, and when it doesn`t spin its likely a coupling between the gearcase and motor assembly...youtube has videos on how its replaced, which isn`t too complicated to do...good luck

My Maytag washer model #:sav515deww is leaking underneath during the spin cycle. I took off the 2 front panels. I have been told taht it is a bearing and a seal that are out. Replacement parts cost approx $90.00. Unit is 5 years old. Is it hard to fix? Thanks
