SOURCE: Microwave ahs power but doesn't heat.

The most common causes for a lack of heating are a bad door switch, a loose connection on the magnetron, a bad magnetron, bad connection on the control circuit board, a bad relay on the board, bad high voltage diode, or bad high voltage transformer. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

SOURCE: whirlpool microwave oven model gh5184xpq

Models: GH9177XL GH5176XP GH5184XP GH6178XP GH6177XP
KHHS178L KHHS179L
Microwave will not operate (cook). F7 error code
appears on the display.
Electrical circuit interruption between L1 and Neutral in
the microwave inverter circuit.
Possible reasons:
1. Check door, hinge and cavity front alignment and adjust
as needed.
2. Check the operation of all interlock switches.
3. Check over temperature protector for the magnatron.
4. Check all Cavity Thermostats for closed circuit.
5. Unplug the oven for at least 40 seconds. If this solves
the problem
A. Check the Cooling Fan for proper operation or
blockage
B. Check the resistance of the magnetron thermostat.
It should be 0 Ohms, replace if necessary.
6. Check that the control cable to the 1100 watt inverter
is properly connected to plug P2 on the display PCB
& Adjust or Reconnect
7. If interlock switches operate correctly, replace 1100W
inverter.
8. If problem persists, replace control assembly.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have further questions about anything that I have posted. I would be glad to help

thanks

SOURCE: Error code F2.Q1

One thing to do before you start disassembling the door:
The touch pad connects to the turntable and other functions via a pair of connectors just to the left of the lights. Since these are located directly above the stovetop's cooking surface, your problem may be moisture accumulation on these connectors.
1. Remove the bottom panel; and locate these connectors.
2. Disconnect and clean both sides of these connectors with electrical contact cleaner.
3. Reconnect and test.
Good luck,
m

SOURCE: whirlpool microwave hood combination has code f2

The F2 error means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.

On these models, usually the membrane keypad is not available separately, so you would have to order and replace the control panel frame which comes with a new keypad (sometimes called "panl-cntrl").

The part availability and cost will depend on the full model number from the tag on the unit, and it will be one of these:

MH1150XMB0
MH1150XMB1
MH1150XMB2
MH1150XMB3
MH1150XMB4
MH1150XMQ0
MH1150XMQ1
MH1150XMQ2
MH1150XMQ3
MH1150XMQ4
MH1150XMS0
MH1150XMS1
MH1150XMS2
MH1150XMS3
MH1150XMS4
MH1150XMT0
MH1150XMT1
MH1150XMT2
MH1150XMT3
MH1150XMT4

You can order the part and find helpful exploded view diagrams here.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame. That is a simple do-it-yourself job.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Whirlpool mircowave model MH3184XP the display reads F2

There is a problem with the control pad. The membrane, or surface, of the pad may be broken or damaged somewhere, resulting in the F2 error code. This is common for Whirlpool microwaves.

Press "Stop/Cancel" twice and select a new cook program. Press "Start" to begin.

If the error code persists, press "Stop/Cancel" again and unplug the microwave. Wait several minutes and plug it in. If the F2 code appears again, it requires repair.

Replacement membranes can be found online

but the internals of a microwave are dangerous, having high voltages even when unplugged. With the cost of parts and labour from a service tech, you may be best buying a new oven.

Microwave shows F2 on display with controls non functional

HI. this is a code that represents a failed key pad or touch pad membrane board. replacing this failed touch pad will fix this issue. This touch pad board is separate from the actual control board.

Display has a f2 code on it. whirlpool oven is model mh1150xm and less than 3 years old.

determined from whirlpool that the f2 display is from the control circuit board. the board's problem is intermittent and needs eventually replacing. not covered by warranty. determined that whirlpool has reduced the warranty for the electronic circuits in its appliances from 5 to 1 year. this is great for consumer confidence in whirlpool. have had trouble with 2 other new whirlpool appliances. probably will not buy another whirlpool appliance.

check the operation of the micro switches on the lock motor. that they are open when they should be and closed when they should be. often they need to be cleaned or replaced.
if this doesnt help re post there is some board work to do, i would suggest a tech do this part though. always unplug range when you work on them! If you are good at electronics and stuff and would like to do it yourself then contact me for further support!
