Don't worry about the brown wires. They are for telephone mute.

The yellow is Memory (constant 12 volt, so battery is fine), but the red should go to a 12 volt source that turns on and off with the key.

SOURCE: Clarion DXZ785USB - Connecting Fused Lines

You will definitely need to connect the Yellow Wire Memory Back-Up Lead, since this is the connection from the radio to the battery that stores the time and your presets. If it is not hooked up, you can use the radio, but all your settings will return to default once you turn off the car. The Yellow Wire Bus Power Lead sounds like it would be for powering an auxiliary unit like a Sat Radio or HD Radio add-on. You will not need to connect this unless you have an add-on such as one of these.

SOURCE: Clarion M5675 won't turn on

Take the stereo all the way out and hook the black wire to the negative terminal and the yellow and the red wire to the positive terminal on a charged car battey. If it still does not turn on you may have fuse in the back of the deck. If not it's probably fried.

My pioneer avg-X1500 won't power on lost the remote n change batter in truck n now no power on radio how do I reset it

Pull the plug from the back of the unit for 5 minutes. Plug back in. While it's out check any fuses in the harness or the back of the unit. Also check fuses in the fuse box. You should have 1 red and 1 yellow wire on the radii. The yellow should have 12 volts at all times and the red should have 12 volts with the key on.

No Voltage to Yellow radio wiring for vehicle. Next Step?

I'm pretty sure the yellow wire supplies 12 volts to keep the clock time correct when the radio is powered down. The radio main power is usually red (+)and black (-).
I think you are giving the color of the fuse, not the wire, since 20 amps would be for the main radio power and a much smaller fuse would serve to energize only the clock in the radio.
Either way "Bravo" on your accomplishment.

Had factory radio, burned out or so I thought. Replaced with after market, not the first one in there. Bought wire harness so I did not need to cut any wires. Now I have no power to the new deck. Fuses are...

Check all your fuses first. The yellow wire behind the deck is for a constant 12 volts from the battery( to retain memory), the red wire is for switched power, for example when you turn the key it should be 12 volts, when you remove the key(or turn off) there should be no voltage on the red wire, and of course, make sure you have a good ground. Use a test light when performing these tests, it's a time saver.

Hi there,

Often, the RED & YELLOW wires are installed incorrectly.

RED............+12 Volt Ignition wire (supplies power only when key is ON)
YELLOW.....+12 Volt Battery wire (this is the wire which retains memory and should be connected to constant power)

If you have definitely installed correctly, then you may have an issue with your head unit.

Cheers,

buy a digital volt meter and start checking fuses for the radio at fuse panel . if blow replace it . if not blown remove radio from dash check to see if radio is still grounded . if still grounded take the volt meter turn on to dc volts and take black test lead touch to your radios ground the touch the red test lead to the red with to see if you get 12 volt with car on if not need to find out why .. take to professsinal ..

you can also check the yellow wire on radio it should have 12 volts allways doesnt matter if car in off or running this saves memory for clock and station presets.

if every thing is test out right then you need to buy new radio ..

if you dont feel good about doing this yourself find a mecp car audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem maybe expensive but a good tech could find out problem with in the first 30 to 45 minutes it get 35.00 per hour to troubleshoot car audio system ...

Keep blowing fuse for radio what is colr of constant wire

The constant 12 volt wire is yellow. The accessory ( switched 12 volt wire) is red. The blue (power antenna) and blue/white (remote amp turn on) are also switched 12 volt wires. Make sure that they are not being grounded.

Radio no power which is maching fuse

There are two fuses that power the radio. The 15 amp CIG fuse and the 15 amp DOME fuse.
AT the radio connector, you should have 12 volt power in the GREY wire (this is the main power from the CIG fuse) and 12 volt power in the BLUE with YELLOW tracer (this is memory power from the DOME fuse). If you have power in botrh of these circuits, suspect the radio being bad.

Panasonic CQ-C1335U CD/RADIO FOR AN AUTO

what kind of car do you have a Chevy by any chance?? Any way that red wire needs to see 12 volts in order for the radio to turn on. But this is the wire that should get power when the key is turned on NOT directly to the battery. By the way, If you wires to the battery make sure that you have a fuse no more than 6 to 10 inches away from the battery. You should no matter what make you have be able to find a constant 12 volt for the yellow wire and a ground for the black in the dash. Hit me back with year make and model and I'll let you know how to find some ignition.
