How to reset printer model OKI C562dn to default factory settings?

I can't login to the admin page using the default login details which are root and aaaaaa I called OKI they said call one of our partners I've been quoted 105 pounds to reset the damned thing, I resent paying for something I should be able to do myself. Any ideas on resetting this device back to its factory settings.

1.Click on Start and go to control panel
2. Go to programs and then uninstall a program.
3. Find and uninstall your printer software.
4. Restart your system and install your printer.
5. Restart your system.
6. Live Happily ever after !

Apologies I can't edit this question the question concerns an OKI C562DN but if you read the question it's clear I'm looking to reset the hardware.

Try to login with username - root and password as Last 6 digits of Mac address. To know how to find mac address - assuming you use Windows : Click the Start button, select Run. Type CMD and click OK. A black Command prompt window will open. Type ipconfig /all and press Enter. ... Lots of information will be displayed, but what you need is in the Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection section. Also, try to use username as admin instead of root

If you are using the printer in a LAN or Wireless LAN, you must assign to it an IP address compatible with your network. You do that by opening the Web admin interface of your router and assigning to the printer an address that is still free. Try 192.168.1.178 but that depends on the default gateway (192.168.1.1) that you defined for your router.

I am trying to login as admin, to be able to change the default password and secure the signal, but the default username does not let me log in. I'm using 192.168.0.1, login-admin, password-(blank). H

Looks like you wil have to do a facotry reset. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset

If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can ssets-up form scratch.

Hi,

Please do the following.
1. If you have changed the default password you will have to reset router and the password will be set to the default password. To reset the router to factory default keep the reset button pressed for 15 seconds while the router is powered on the reset button is located on the back of the router inside a small hole which needs to be pressed using some pointed object like a pen or a pin.
NOTE** its importaint to note that if you reset the router to factory defaults you will lose all the configuration and you will have to reconfigure the router***

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

If the SonicWALL's admin password is lost, there is no backdoor or other mechanism to bypass the administrator login. Please note that prefs files do not contain the admin name and password. So if you reset the firmware and import a current prefs file, you can gain access using the default login credentials ('admin' & 'password'). Without a current prefs file, you must reset the firmware and configure from scratch.

For models running SonicOS (Enhanced or Standard), you can reboot to factory defaults. This resets all settings including the admin name, password and LAN IP address. Import the current prefs file. The configuration is restored and use the defaults 'admin' and 'password' to login.

For models running Firmware 6.X, you must reset the firmware (wipe and upload using the reset procedure). Import the current prefs file. The configuration is restored and use the defaults 'admin' and 'password' to login. The 'Reset to Factory Defaults' button does not reset the admin name, password or LAN IP address for these models

I got in by using "admin" as the user and the last 6 characters of the MAC address as the password...with CAP lock on.

I actually found out that it had never been configured - here is the standard factory access info: All Oki network printing devices support configuration changes via a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. When applying a configuration change to a device the user is prompted for a user name and password. The following details should be entered: User Name: root Password: last six digits of the MAC address* *You can find the MAC address on the network summary web page or by printing off a menu from the printer.
