Sunpak digiflash 3000 manual

I have been using a Sunpak DigiFlash 3000 on my Nikon D3100, mounting it and unscrewing it the same way for @ 2 years. Today, I mounting it as I have always done, but when I tried to remove it, it will not budge. What can I do to remove my Digiflash.

I wonder if a little sand got into the threads...

If you simply cannot get it to loosen, have someone try CAREFULLY with a pair of ChanNelLock (brand name) or other brand "water pump pliers", Dorothy. Ordinary slipjoint pliers (the kind that look like two little opposing thumbs) are generally useless for things like this, but parallel-jaw pliers ("water pump pliers") might be able to get in to that little plastic thumbwheel to loosen it far enough to remove.

Really - GENTLY is the keyword here. If they grip the thumbwheel too tightly, it'll distort the plastic and the thumbwheel will never feel the same again.

Once the flash is off the camera, use some aerosol cleaner spray to clean the threads while you work that thumbwheel back & forth. Don't use anything with any lubricant in it, but Freon or plain-air "spray" works well. Whatever you use, it MUST evaporate COMPLETELY and not attack plastic.

How do I use this flash as a slave?

You need to set the flash to slave and the same channel as the master. If the flash doesn't have this function it may be able to be fired optically. Set the master flash to low power and set the off camera flash to optical.

Digiflash 3000 will not flash even when testing. I hear it warm up, ready light comes on, but nothing.

These are not that expensive to buy, the problem is that the parts and service are more than a new one. In any case they use high voltage and you have to use special tools to measure and service the flash circuit. IT might be the flash tube is bad, the trigger circuit is bad, the capacitor is bad etc.

Can i use sunpak auto 30 DX thyristor to nikon d7000?

According to this list the 30DX's trigger voltage is borderline for use with digital cameras. You may be able to use it with no ill effects, or it may fry your camera. It depends on the particular unit.

I'm looking for the manualfor the Sunpak 433AF Flash unit

TOCAD is the USA distributor for Sunpak. go to their website and email them. Tell them what you have (the Sunpak 433AF for Nikon) give them your address, and offer to pay postage to your home.
You might also check Ebay. It seems there's always someone who sold the flash last year, couldn't find the manual, but found it while looking for something else, and is now selling it on Ebay ,LOL.
