Hot tub pump will not start back up after cleaning hot tub

When you say the pump won't start back up, do you mean the electrical side of things and there is just no power going to the pump. Or are you saying that the pump is on but not pumping water.

I am going to think you mean the pump is on but not moving water. This is common after you clean and drain your hot tub. You have what is referred to as an airlock in your hot tub line. It is easy to remove the airlock by simply opening one of the unions near the pump. This will allow the air to release and water flow to begin again.

Make sure also that you have cleaned the hot tub filters, if they are dirty and reduce water flow that could shutdown your hot tub pump as well.

If it is the electrical side of things make sure your GFCI has not tripped and maybe you just need to reset this. If it is anything further on the electrical side make sure you involve a professional.

  • open a union to release any airlocks.
  • clean your hot tub filters.
  • check to make sure your GFCI is not tripped.

Hot tub stuck in PR mode.

Are the pumps primed, the code represents that the pumps are being primed and should only stay on 2 - 5 minutes. If the pumps are not primed then you may have an air lock or dirty filters. You need to release the air or clean or replace the filters and your pumps will prime.

How can I remove tannins from water

Tannins which is water that has organic material from decaying foliage can be a bit of an issue with your equipment especially the filters but for the most part is an aesthetic issue. The only way to remove the tannins is pre-filtering before you put the water in the hot tub. You can purchase a purestart pre-filter you attach to your hose when filling your hot tub. If that does not do the job there are some applications from MetalTrap that may aid you as well. If all else fails you may have to look into something more industrial like Tannin Filters Tannin Filter Systems Remove tannic acid color from well...

Hot tub doesn't heat

Steve- go to http://www.hottubworks.com/ and check out the heater trouble shooting guide. Pretty easy to narrow it down. Most common is filters being clogged (lack of flow) or heater element has burned out (easy to replace) there is a video how to do it.

Spa thermal overheating

Turn off all power to the hot tub as soon as you realize it is overheating. The spa should have an automatic shut off when the water temperature reaches about 112 degrees fahrenheit. Call your hot tub dealer or manufacturer for service options. There are a variety of conditions that could lead to the overheating of your hot tub, but may differ in various hot tub models and brands. Check the water level of the hot tub. Low water levels could be the culprit for the over heating, so you may just need to add more water to the hot tub.
Check the shut-off valves in the hot tub. If they are closed while the hot tub heater is on, it could cause the water to reach unsafe temperatures.
Clean the hot tub filter. A dirty filter could be blocking the flow of water, causing the water to sit in the hot tub and overheat.
Turn the power back on after finding the problem and talking to the hot tub dealer. The hot tub will probably not start back up until the water reaches a safe temperature
