It's not any difficult job to fix your bathtub faucet if it became leaky. You can fix it using some basic tools. Watch this video to watch how to do it step by step ( 11 Easy Steps to Fix a Leaky Bathtub Faucet ). Replace your Bathtub faucet it is old enough. Thanks!

We have no hot water coming out of our bathtub faucet. We took it all apart and water is only coming our of the cold side of the pipe

there is probably a shutoff on the rough-in valve in the wall. Sometimes the seal in that comes apart and blocks the water. Get new stem for valve. Unscrew the nut, replace stem, tighten nut. Clean inside valve before u put new one in.

We have a 2 handle Delta faucet in our bathtub and one leaks. House is 25 years old all the information I can find on Delta is for the single handle type and information would be appreciated

nathanolsen1.gif It probably looks something like this basically front of handle has a cap pops up usually phillip screw after unscrewing that the handle will pull off if its real difficult you may need a handle puller or cut off the handle with saw and replace the stems may just need a gasket but if its that old i recommend buying a whole repair kit that includes handles, stems, seats and will include everything except the seat wrench.

How do I tighten the faucet handle. The handle is floppy and unless you put downward pressure on the handle when you turn it, it will continue to move from left to right

From what you have described it sounds like the stem in which the handle rests on is stripped and allowing to move from side to side.

Remove handle it has a set screw in the side of it and turn water off. Check the stem may be in need of replacing or the retaining nut that holds the stem down to counter top may be in need of tighting.

Depending on what brand of faucet you have you may need to replace the cartridge, moen and clones, or stem/cartridge on delta and similar. I would not replace the faucet until I was sure that you had hot water to the kitchen faucet and the faucet was going to cost more to repair then replace.
If you have supply valves for kitchen faucet I would shut them off and try to take faucet apart to determine where the hot water is stopping. Do not try to force things to much or you may make the faucet totally useless.
If you know what name brand your faucet is you can find several sites on u-tube that show good repair procedures.
I hope this helps you. Thank you.

Looking for the stem unit diagram from delta for their single handle shower unit that uses the stem rp1991. in the info leaflet that comes with the replacement they refer to a spring. I want a diagram to...

You can go to the link below to get a parts breakdown of your style of Delta. The seats and springs are recessed into the valve body behind the RP1991 stem. The flat part of the stem rotates back and forth across surface of the rubber seat, so in time the rubber surface wears flat and the spring can no longer push it firmly against the stem.and then the faucet drips.

I have an Elger slantback faucet which has develope a leak from inside the pop-up stem hole. I have a spare and both the one in use and the spare leak. It is as if there is a hole/crack inside the stem...

It should not be a crack but a loose stem underneath the chrome cover. Take off the knobs, and get a wrench on the the bolt looking part that is sticking up. It should do it. If that isn't the problem, the it is leaking out the cartridge and you will need to replace them, simple job. Take out the old with the water off, and match it up at the hardware store. With the handles off you should be able to see the leak. Hope this helps.

The cold water won't turn off on our Bathtub

Sounds like you have a faucet that has a stop that is on the handle and it has broke. Remove the handle and turn the stem on its own. If you end up having to replace the stem, you will need to turn the water off to the faucet and if it is in the tub, you will need to turn the water off to the house. Hopefully this helps you.
