Take apart x5470 - Lexmark X5470 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X5470 Printer Driver on your computer. Use the Vista Driver in Windows 7:
- X5470 Drivers Windows Vista and Windows 7 32bit - X5470 Drivers Windows Vista and Windows 7 64bit

The Lexmark X5470 User's Guide should give you a more detailed instructions on how to setup your printer for faxing. Click on this link to download the user's guide for free: Lexmark X5470 User's Guide. Scroll to page 27, Getting the printer ready to fax.

You can download the Lexmark X5470 driver (for free) from the Lexmark website. Just click on this link: Lexmark X5470 Drivers. To select your operating system, click on change OS.


Then click on FILTER.


Click on the driver under Recommended Downloads.
Download, execute the file and follow the instructions on your computer.

When you take out the screws how does the back plastic unclip?

The problem with the printer could be due to two things the first one could be a print quality issue. Here is a link where you can find very good details on how to clean the printhead and cartridges. http://bit.ly/amSQwY
The second problem could be software related which I don't think could be the problem with your printer but if the print quality does not work then this is worth a try. Just uninstall all the Lexmark Software completly restart the PC, download the latest driver from the lexmark website and it should be good to go.

try it and see most likely it won't work but you could try to upgrade the software.

I would like to inform you that Lexmark X5470 is not a wireless printer. However, if you want it to use wireless then you should have a Lexmark N4050e 802.11g Wireless Print Server.
