The printer keeps saying that the drum image is running low. Less than 3000 copies. Can it be reset to zero. Are there risks?

Re you using genuine HP NEW cartridges? If not, you must make sure that whoever has re manufactured the ones you are using has replaced the chip on the cartridge. This tells the machine how many copies are on the cartridge.

124-374 fault when running black copies

  1. Restart the device: Power off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then power it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary errors.
  2. Check toner levels: Ensure that the black toner cartridge has sufficient toner. If it is low or empty, replace it with a new cartridge.
  3. Clean the imaging unit: Open the printer's front cover and carefully remove the imaging unit. Gently wipe the surface of the black imaging unit drum with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid touching the drum with your hands. Reinstall the imaging unit securely.
  4. Perform a firmware update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model on the manufacturer's website. If an update is available, follow the instructions provided to update the firmware. Firmware updates can sometimes fix known issues and improve overall performance.
  5. Check for paper jams: Open all access doors and paper trays and inspect for any paper jams or obstructions. Remove any stuck paper carefully. Ensure that the paper path is clear and that the paper is loaded correctly in the trays.
  6. Reset the printer to default settings: Access the printer's settings menu and look for a "Restore Defaults" or "Reset" option. Performing a factory reset can help eliminate any incorrect settings that may be causing the issue.

Bizhub 350 printing blank copy

Does you machine say replace PC drum on the control panel if so need to have the drum developer replaced at the same time. The code is dealing with the image unit the drum is one part the developer section is the bottom part or the sensor at the bottom of the image unit is bad. If developer was replaced did that person use a vacuum clean if so then the static electricity from the vacuum clean destroyed the sensor. NEVER USE A VACUUM to remove old toner. Worse case the main board that the sensor feeds is bad. Also when (if the drum and developer where replace did that person clear the counter for developer and drum. Machine works on info from counters to set certain voltages on certain assy. If the counters are not cleared then the copier thinks there is old developer and old drum in the machine and sets voltages for those units when in reality there are new drum and developer . Also after the developer was replaced was the required F8 run. And no prints/fax or copies where made before the f8 was run. When replacing the developer and drum the fax line and the Ethernet cable need to be removed first even used F8 and counters are done in service mode.

How to reset drum counter on bizhub 200

Utility counter, details stop00 stop01. Counters. Has the drum been replaced? if not you reset the counter the machine will assume that a new drum is install and select the proper voltages for a new drum since the drum is not new? it might code and get poor image quality issues. Replace the developer with the drum. Machine uses the counters to determine setting in the machine, developer also has a counter. Does the front panel say replace PC drum? If so replace developer and drum and cleaning blade at the same time. You clear counters before pulling out the image unit. and you don't exit all the way out of service mode after clearing the counters you hit exit once the turn off main power, Rear left side. Once new drum and developer installed. RUN F8. Do not allow copies Prints or fax until F8 is run. Or start all over again.

Our small office purchased a Canon Imagerunner 2000/1600 copier 4 years ago. Since our last service call, when the drum was changed and the machine was cleaned, we then ran less than 2000 copies. The...

When your drum was replaced did they put in a new drum assy or just replace the drum cylinder? I would purchase a new drum because these are one of the chepest to buy, around $ 80.00. They have a 6 month warranty and around 20,000 copies. I would replace the drum to see if that solves the problem. Before doing that, pull off the left side bypass assy. It is easily removed without tools. You should be able to see the drum and see if the drum is clean. If not, then replace the drum unit assy. Are you using only Canon toner, no other kind of brand will work. Generics should work but they are usually not as good a quality. The volume is very low and that should not be an issue. I believe its suppossed to handle 10,000 copies per month. Cleaning the glass top and below may help. The mirrors should also be cleaned as well. Good luck.

I changed the drum and there's still a message saying order drum....is there a way to reset that?

(from Okidata's support site)

After replacing the image drum cartridge, reset the drum counter to keep a correct count of the number of pages printed on the image drum.
1. Turn the printer on while holding the MENU 1/Menu 2 button. USERMNT displays in the control panel window.
2. Press MENU 1/Menu 2 three times. DRUM CNT RESET displays.
3. Press ENTER. The counter will reset and the printer will go ON-LINE.

Minolta 2530 DL "low drum" message

The drum loses its ability to accept the image after a fair number of copies

A lot of machines monitor the drum voltages required to obtain a good print and when they go out of tolerance the report the error as Drum Low

It is telling you that the drum is on its last legs before it stops printing

Make sure that the Drum Kit is a complete unit with cleaning blade etc and follow any instructions such as wiping the drum with a bit of the toner powder before it turns.

This acts as a lubricant and stops the cleaning blade from digging into the drum surface when the machine first rotates

Drum life low replace soon Error Message

I already answered this at some other place here - but just to make sure the word gets out there:

There is a little special (white) gear on the outer left side of the drumkit - a little bit below where the toner sits. That gear joins with toner assembly - and you can rotate it counterclockwise all the way back. This should reset the drum counter - worked for me!

I hope it also does the trick for you ;-)
