Good afternoon friend, thanks for the post!

I see from your post that your Frigidaire dryer is getting extremely hot on the top and back. Have you checked to make sure that it is getting proper ventilation? I would verify nothing is blocking your dryer from ventilating which could be causing the appliance to heat up. If it continues to heat up I would reach out to a technician to come diagnose and repair your dryer. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

SOURCE: Problem with my dryer

Heating element coil has shorted to the metal housing. This is usually caused by items like nails or other metallic objects (left in pockets) falling into the heater assembly. There should not be any continuity between the heater leads and the housing. Unplug and do not use until issue with heater has been resolved

SOURCE: back of dryer gets extremly hot!!!

put hand at the outlet to see if the warm air is freely coming out. if not there could be a blockage in a pipe inside or the propler fan on the motor has failed.

Frigidaire dryer overheating and shutting off mid cycle

Usually dryers have the exact opposite problem where the heat does not come on. Because most dryers have thermocouples (rated at 150 & 185 degrees) to prevent the dryer from getting too hot. You may have the blower fan come off of the motor. Check and see if you have air moving out of the vent. Also unplug the dryer and take the back off and inspect the area where it is getting hot. It may be some wires touching the case. Sometimes you can see the problem or smell something getting too hot. Either way be carefull. A dryer that overheats is a fire hazard!

Frigidaire electric dryer; model # FDEB34RGS1- gets TOO hot!

I could not find the model number you listed. I also would be very concerned about over heating until we can find and locate the problem. Look inside the door and compare number with the on listed here at Fixya. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Dryer gets hot to the touch

If you didn't install new venting I'd start by checking the vent hose from the back of the dryer to the outside vent hood to make sure there is no blocked airflow. Could be something else but that is where I'd look first. Good Luck.

Back & top of dryer get hot, clothes take long time to dry.

First thing to check for is blocked airflow. Check the dryer as well as the venting from the back of the dryer to the outside of the house good airflow is neccessary. You could remove the venting from the back of the dryer and run a load to see if that helps. Do not leave it off as it is exhausting lint and if a gas dryer spent fuel.

Very hot to touch on top

Sounds like you have a clogged vent hose or clogged duct work leading to the outside of the home. Make sure you have no obstructions in the exhaust system including a functioning flap on the outside wall cap.
