Hello, I have an odd problem with my Pioneer DEH-P9800BT Screen

Hello, I have an odd problem with my Pioneer DEH-P9800BT Headunit. When the unit is closed, the display screen does not work. But when I press the eject button, the screen works perfectly and the cd pops out. Any ideas what the issue could be? I recently pulled the stereo out because the tuner was not working great, I found that was a loose connection. Then this started...

Check the contacts on the faceplate are clean. Sometimes they get dirty and worn. Turn radio on and lightly push in in different areas on the faceplate to see if the screen comes on. There is a connection point on the faceplate and head unit.

Clean all contacts chemically and check all wiring for good, tight connections.

SOURCE: Pioneer DEH-1100MP stereo no working

Is it older then a year? warranty or call18004211404. If your fuse is good check these. check you harness for a GOOD ground, check for power with a meter reader. For some reason on these units if your constant 12v and ignition 12v are both not hooked up it wont even do a thing. make sure both are connected. no loose connects?

I own the the Pioneer DEH-P9800BT and my screen will not come on. if i press the eject button the screen will come on when its open, when i press it again to shut it the screen goes blank. I have no idea...

You will get this problem when the printed ribbon is slightly cut because of the repeated opening and folding of the screen. Eventually, the ribbon will be cut to the point that you won't get any sort of response when pushing any of the buttons on the faceplate. Order this part number and replace it. P/N:XNP7026. You can get one from Ebay that already has the connector plate soldered on, if you do not have any experience with soldering to printed circuits. Connecting it is fairly straight forward. Remove the top plate of the receiver, 4 screws securing the cd-unit, unlatch the ribbon (paying close attention to how the ribbon was routed). Reroute new printed ribbon and reassemble the unit in reverse order. Good luck, hope this helps because I was rather upset when mine failed.

Pioneer deh-p9800bt is makeing a bad noise thrrough my speakers

Since vehicles started using High Energy Ignition engine noise in stereo equipment has been a issue. You have two options. The first is to try connecting your power wire to a alternate source that may have internal filtering. If you cant find a clean source of power you will have to add a inline filter on your power wire. You can pick them up at any stereo shop.

Pioneer deh p9800bt

There is a yellow wire that needs to be connected to a constant +12 volt supply. This wire retains all of the pre-sets, settings, etc.

It sounds like it is not.

Check the connections with a volt meter with the vehicle off to verify it has constant +12 volts.

Best of Luck.

Alternor noise

I had the same problem with my Pioneer Head Unit.

I changed the ground of the Head Unit and the AMP to the same location and that took care of the Alternator noise.

Best of Luck.
